the Lord’s saucer

saucer.gif

Today’s anagram comes from today’s Spot the Frog text bubble: “Saucers are fun but they’re hard to control.” I don’t normally do this but left the word “saucers” intact for one of my anagrams today. This piece of comic strip is in my earlier post, so I did four anagrams for now:

1.) “Hunt for chart, a bet you enter Lord’s saucer.”2.) “A half-century carbon use, trust door there.”3.) “ET returns for a breath; Use conch url today.” 4.) Truth floored us, better ray can use anchor.”

Well I do actually have a “conch” url, it’s called the last pearl.

Back to church I go….

purdy funny

purdy.jpg

It’s funny sometimes, life, just like that box o’ chocolates Forrest’s mom told him about…ya never know whatja’ gonna get. Take this morning, for instance. Sometimes the pastor really surprises me with the breadth and depth of his sermons. The one this morning was sweet and layered, like the rainbow lollipop he spoke of. The sermons I like best come straight from life’s experiences. It reminded me of the days at the church I used to go to in Cincinnati, Nathan Custer’s preaching style. I’ve mentioned him before.I always liked that folksy touch. There’s always a scripture to tie life to, but not only is using our experiences to support what we read in the Bible wonderful, it’s good to support our life with the Bible’s lessons. Sometimes it’s like a special pick out of a favorite box of chocolates, sometimes like a new box we have never tasted. A purdy good mix. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away sometimes, but the Lord is always good. That’s my “Sunday stuff”.

Everyone has been told life sometimes gives us lemons, and there are those who make lemonade with it. That’s what my momma taught. Sometime in the past few days, while on my whirlwind connecting a bunch of posts together, I came across an old photo I had copied. I almost used it yesterday but said, naaahhh, I’ll wait another day. Well, I waited. Here’s the pic:

Now you might wonder why I have a pressure gauge on my mind. This isn’t just any gauge, it’s part of the nexus. If you look closely you will see the words Lemonade and Soda Water on the dial. The other day I picked up some tonic water for some friends (in case they wanted to drink their normal drink they have when they visit, gin and tonic). I had to go into the liquor store because the grocery store was out of it and I wasn’t sure if there was a reason to buy one over the other. I realized, when it came to mixing drinks, I didn’t know the difference between soda water, seltzer water and tonic water. Obviously I am not a drinker, so such things escape the everyday. Tonic is sweeter, it’s what I needed, so it was good I didn’t buy the soda water. It’s just funny that I have this silly picture of an unusual gauge. I came across it right around the time I was using the Opus comics that showed stressed backwards is desserts, and then the Ziggy comic strip with the same. When people are stressed they are usually under pressure, …Some things just make more sense to me, like a symbol or signal of what’s to come. lemonade1.jpg

In thinking about that gauge with lemonade written on it, I thought 60…the number 60…how about a temperature of 60 degrees. Well, today, the temperature should be right around 60 degrees. Things have a way of coming together at some point , like the “lemonade” in one of today’s comic strips, it makes a connection of sorts. That’s what I like to do, connect the dots, so sometimes I need to include where I’ve been so you know where I am going. My “disclaimer” of sorts, is this is “One of those blogs where you need to go back a few entries in order to connect some of the anagrams, comics, or collages, as is often the case of art imitating life.” So some of today’s collage contains already used comics and some are new today. If you have been following along, you already know which is which.

Did anyone guess which comic strip text I was going to use for anagrams the last time I asked that? Did anyone guess it was what it was? Maybe you can figure out what today’s collage will bring.

lollipop salvation?

Yep, that is what the pastor called this morning’s sermon. He said his daughter asked for one of those big rainbow lollipops while shopping at Goodwill this week. First time for such a wonderful treat. A two-for-one kinda’ deal, where she was able to give her sister one, too. Not wanting lollipops stuck all over the child and the car on the way home, the pastor told his daughter she couldn’t have it until later. Being a child she kept asking and asking, to the point where he told her, if she asked one more time he would throw it out the window. Well, you know what happened. There was a bit of conversation before the lollipop went out the window, and yes, the pastor did admit he littered.

Some raccoon or opossum ought to like that. He had to throw it out the window so the child would know what daddy says daddy means.  He was as disappointed as she was, no doubt, but it makes a good lesson. He had to keep his word. Obviously he told the story much better than I, but he had an hour and 15 minutes in which to run the service and get the story out.

On the way out of church I told the pastor I had written a post called outta dum dums this week. I’m not sure what that means to him so I guess I will print that post and the one that came before it to tie the whole thing together. Maybe it will be more meaningful to him that way, who knows.  In case you didn’t read it, go back and see why I smiled when I heard, “today’s sermon is called Lollipop Salvation.”

There was a song sung in church today, which included the words “an alien by birth” which made me think…aren’t we all? Time to rest a while, check out the day’s toons, maybe I can get another post or two done before the next session of church starts.

Why I'm here...

A friend told me I should blog here. I use Cosmic Bubbles to make a connection between an inner and outer world, where comics anagram to a functional place in my life. I write in nexus form, (at least that is what I call it) because one thing builds on another generally. I am led to use my senses in ways most people might not, because I am aware of a natural presence, I guess I should say. I talk to God, Jesus, ET, the Big Guy, "them." Some may now say, OK, let's move on, find another blog, this woman is just nuts (something I may have said a few years back myself). But you might not...you might just find something else a little eerie, a little fun, spooky maybe in an Einsteinian way. Tying anagrams to daily life or a continuing series of concepts may just give you another perspective, allowing you to become a bit more aware of yourself in the scheme of things. It is always better to go back a few posts because one post alone doesn't really tell you what is going on here. What does go on is a connection, where sometimes I write a thought and I hear something on TV to clarify the thought I just had. Yes, I believe thoughts are real things, they manifest in ways I did not know about until the past couple of years. I used concrete examples, documenting as best I can as things occur, so people can see the synchronicity of the moment, the coincidence as it were, if you believe things are so random. Well, I believe all things are possible, and I show that every day in some small way.
