“You want the right people to notice what you’ve been doing lately and that should come to pass today — even if you don’t see any overt signs. Remain confident in your abilities and you’ll end up ahead of the game.” That was today’s horoscope. Who do you suppose the right people are, and am I not seeing enough signs as it is? This little piece of comic strip was in my last collage. The text, “I see myself in your eyes” anagrams to “Sees you’re in my life, yes.”
I took advantage of the sun and warm weather earlier, walked the dog, stopped at my friend’s, bought the tubby Chihuahua a new harness and then we took both dogs for a walk. I promised the Chihuahua I would take him when I saw how excited he was to hear the word “walk” when I took the other one out. Gotta keep one’s promises. It has been since October 2007 that I last took Reuben (the Newfie/Border collie) for a walk, and he was only three months old then. It was a challenge for me, since I have only recently been able to walk without my cane. The Chihuahua (Peanut) did enjoy his walk very much. I think he has only been on one more walk than Reuben. It sure is nice to do something somewhat normal for a change. Normal? Well, whatever that is, it was close enough.
It’s raining now, much cooler now than at noon/1 PM. It was good while it lasted. I need a break now and then. Friends stopped by to tell us they would be going to Naples, Florida next week, for about a week. Nice. I like Naples, especially this time of year. I haven’t been there in a while, and don’t know when I will get back there. Of course, I haven’t been anywhere for a year or so. Haven’t won the lottery yet, though two couples in town did get 5 of 6 last week, for a nice mill to split. Someone is happy. Money isn’t everything but it is nice.
In the previous post I wrote a last minute mention about a watch. Because I write in the stream of consciousness, I wrote it into the post as I remembered it. I had not yet picked any text to anagram until I came back from being out with the dogs. So I picked a text bubble from today’s Calvin & Hobbes comic strip, which was in the previous collage. The cartoon text was, “What fun! A letter for me! I wonder who sent it? I wonder what it says? What could this possibly be?” The anagram (singular) reads, “We finish the silly underwater watch post…mind wrote out incredibly fast…how’s a watch best?” Well, number one, I did not mention it was a water resistant watch in the previous post, but I now recall it was water resistant, close enough for the anagram. How is a watch best? I never could keep one running longer than a year. So 25 cents was a great bargain for a watch for awhile. Hmmm, I guess that put me ahead of the game after all.
