One more, bubble up. I can appreciate the humor in today’s comics, especially the one with the two cats in the window, talking about drywalling. I did mention drywalling in a recent post. One anagram wasn’t good enough for today (I did one earlier) so I picked out another text bubble from the collage I did this morning. The cat’s (in the comic strip) said, “What if we had to drywall this place, I wouldn’t know where to start.” Just two anagrams tonight, “If we know Lord’s Law is truth, they’ll await Word, watch opened.” and “I saw a way life can’t twist truth, Lord hoped whole world knew.”

an amish read

From pudding to healing, I am kinda’ all over the place today; blame the stream of consciousness thinking that goes on in my head, I guess. After posting my pudding post (having used an old Amish pudding recipe) I thought it a bit unusual to come across an “Amish” connection, of
sorts. I was looking for something else, actually, and saw a link for the Madison
Indiana incline in the Roundabout, then cut the second part of the link off and saw that this month’s Roundabout, which I had not yet seen, has a story about an Amish healer. It interested me somewhat, gave me a book title to look for somewhere down the line. I didn’t see it listed at the local library, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there. I sent an email to the library asking if they can get it if they don’t have it. Meanwhile, I will have to remember to pick up a Roundabout next time I am out.
I have always wondered when people think their gifts came to them, especially when it comes to healing hands. Some know early in life that they are capable of healing others, and go on to become healers as they get older. I never really thought about going to a healer myself, or tried to heal anyone either. Not sure I would even know how to think to do such a thing, so figured it might be a good read.
mmm, puddin’

I never tasted organic milk before last night. 2% is my main drink, though I can go up or down, depending on the sale. I thought the bottles I bought could be bad because it was a little bitey, so I threw one gallon out, but decided to sleep on it before getting rid of the other one. I got two gallons of organic milk for 20 cents each at Kroger yesterday. TWENTY CENTS??? Yes. I figured it was still good, the sell date was today (5th). The checkout guy looked at the milk with the big tags on it, then looked at me, looked at the milk again and looked at me. I said, well, I’m gonna make lots of pudding.
I had purchased a gallon of 2% earlier for $3.79 when running errands. Then, when Darlene and I decided to go to the grocery on the hill, well, I figured I would see if they had any on sale. They did and I placed a gallon of regular milk in the cart. Next case caught my eye; I saw the organic milk, thought I would try it. For the
difference of $2.50, I was still ahead anyway. I made pudding today. Old-fashioned (Amish recipe) vanilla pudding. Mmmmm. I didn’t have cornstarch in the house but had Tapioca starch the beau uses for his Thai cooking. Hey, it worked. I used some Mexican vanilla (yes, the real thing) and three fresh bananas; the pudding is delicious! It didn’t all fit in the bowl so I had to force the beau to eat some warm. I didn’t like the taste of the milk by itself, and so maybe it was on the edge, who knows, but after figuring it would be scalded it anyway, I used it, so we’ll be eating pudding a few days. Oooooh, I just remembered I bought strawberries yesterday too. Oh, those will be great on top!
Married with Children was on as I finished the pudding. I could hear, “See the tree how big it’s grown but friend it hasn’t been too long it wasn’t big… I laughed at her and she got mad the first day that she planted it was just a twig…” I was still at the sink, when I heard “Honey, I miss you….” from “Honey” by Bobby Goldsboro. I laughed because of the recent post I had about the trees with eyes. I was looking out the window, just laughing. Next I heard one of the characters singing, “I am woman hear me roar…”
Thinking about the pudding I made I decided to look up the age old question, Where does the phrase “the proof is in the pudding” come from? The etymology suggests “the proof of the pudding is in the eating.” It means that the true value or quality of something can only be judged when it’s put to use. The meaning is often summed up as “results are what count.”
BTW, I used to have a blog called Proof is in the Puddin’ Pages, if ya feel like reading some of my older stuff.
a minor miracle

Someone must’ve hit the beau over the head last night. He got up this morning, fixed breakfast, swept the living room floor, and I got some sleep because he stayed off the computer most of the night. Miracles do happen! It is so nice to get some sleep, even if I am nowhere near what normal people get, a few hours is nice.
I think you’re gonna like today’s anagram. I did the collage and when I realized Popeye was there, I chose the text bubble to anagram. Things just kinda’ went together after that. The comic strip text is, “Yeah, I has an importink mission there!” That gave me two somewhat related anagrams immediately, so I got lazy and stopped there. The anagrams are:
1.) “They remain near, ask him his position.”
2.) “His name is Iam, persona theory, I think.”
Hmmm, sounds like something from a previous post or two.
What do I know of theories, witnessing, quarters, UFO’s, a natural order of things, drywall, lead paint, echoes, or boxes of chocolate? They just happen to be in the comics today, so I put them in my collage.

I titled this post a minor miracle because sometimes it seems like one was performed, like the beau doing something different for a change. I used to write on another site, using the name my mosaic of minor miracles. (here’s where that began). I am used to seeing miracles everywhere. Some people don’t call the smallest things that happen miracles. Maybe that is why they don’t see many. I will continue to see what I see, because I too, am what I am, just like Popeye. Ya might say I am on a mission, too.
