For those who read my previous Delta Queen posts, here is an update about the status of the Delta Queen’s fight to stay afloat, including a blurb from some in Madison, Indiana.

July 9, 2008Holy Spirit showed up!
July 9, 2008Yep, The Holy Spirit showed up in my anagram today, and made sure I had a nice comics collage to go with the text of the anagram. But first I need to get the mundane out of the way, mostly because part of it is in the collage.
I went to the hospital yesterday to talk with someone about getting a new doctor, and at this point my chart is awaiting the possible new doctor’s decision as to whether or not he will take me on as a patient. Kinda’ like the old days, whose team will I be picked to be on. It’s humbling, to say the least, but frustrating more than anything. They were supposed to call me back with the decision today, but it looks like it won’t be until tomorrow. They did call yesterday to tell me the doctor would not be able to look at the chart until today, so that helps, I guess. It’s all in the collage, more or less. Art imitating life, as usual. My true life is comical, I suppose, no wonder.
The doctor I was originally assigned for the Healthy Indiana Program (as of June 1st) has more patients than he can handle, and part of the rules say I need a primary care doctor, one that is part of the program. No one is taking new patients. Also, the doctor I have been seeing (an internist) is leaving town, so a certain level of care that I am used to will change. He wants me to see the other internist, who is taking new patients, but I need the primary care doctor first. Maybe he can send me there at some point. Who knows. I really have no complaint about anything, because everyone has been nice and my health issues are being addressed, except that patients are being assigned doctors who won’t or can’t take them. This will be a problem for some, especially if they need to see a specialist and have to see the primary doctor first, and have to find them themselves because HIP hasm’t checked on the lists to see who is taking patients and who is not. Rules-rules-rules. A chasing-tail exercise, it would seem. Maybe some rules need to be broken sometimes so patients can have more options, too. Just my opinion. I worry about the others who have yet to find out they’ve been assigned some doctor who can’t see them. Oh well…
I have a church camp meeting to attend in a little while, so trying to make sure I get this post done. Power went off today, and Lord knows, I need to focus and get done. Speaking of the Big Guy, the Holy Spirit/Holy Ghost wanted to be sure I got today’s collage and anagram correct, maybe because of the visual connection in the comics. Well, people will see what they want to see, I’m not twisting their arms. I just report what I see, what happens in the comics collages and the anagrams. People can figure it out after that. I don’t carry a saucepan to hit anyone over the head but I used to threaten to use the Italian iron skillet. ;) Enjoy today’s collage and anagram, the text comes from the cut-line outlined bubbles in the collage. “Wise Deity shows that comic text bubble talks are strange but with Holy Spirit, every time He appears He puts one hand over her face, his other hand is a human possession.”
a bird moment
July 9, 2008Today I realized how much my chihuahua sounds like a night heron. I played the squawk and immediately my dog started barking back. I had never heard a night heron’s “voice” before today. I was on the phone earlier with my friend (Saundra) who had told me of her morning walk, having been entertained by a family of night herons, so I looked those up. I used to see blue herons fishing in the river (Little Miami) near where I lived in Cincinnati (Anderson Township). On occasion I might see them here in shallow bank waters when the river is up, but I don’t get out often enough to look for them regularly. Of course, I can appreciate all kinds of birds here from the great buzzards flying overhead, with their huge wingspans and silent air glides to the tiny
nuthatches that jump about in the woodpile. We are fortunate to have such beauty around us. The river here does not seem to have as diverse wildlife as what I am used to in Cincinnati, and I am unsure why that is, or if it is or if it is just my perception, so someday I would like to explore the tributaries here a little. I also used to canoe on the Little Miami occasionally, but don’t know if there is a canoe livery around here. Right now I doubt I could handle canoeing, but I can at least hope to be in better shape by next year, can’t I?
