On August 18^th, I read an article and shared the link on my Facebook page about an experiment based on Stanley Milgram’s “Small World” experiment. Milgram conducted his “Small World” experiments in the 1960s, an experiment designed to test the hypothesis that anyone in the world can get a message to anyone else in just “six degrees of separation” by passing it from friend to friend. The Yahoo-Facebook experiment aims to test whether the degrees of separation between people are as few as Milgram and other investigators concluded. Anyone with a Facebook account can participate in the Facebook-Yahoo experiment by going to the site. When I started this particular post I had not yet been to that site, figuring I had completed my own version of the facebook-degrees-of-separation, but I did go there just to copy the information about what the experiment was, not to join the experiment. Obviously mine is a very different kind of connection.

I make connections all the time, whether it is due to magical thinking, a real unusual sense of pattern documentation or just plain coincidence. I’ll call it an awareness with a twist in that I document my connectivity using comics and anagrams and comments about what I find. I know it sounds weird, but surely there must be science in this somewhere? Here’s the thing. If I were a mathematician, I could probably have figured out my own probabilities years ago, but instead, I document through a more visual method. Here is the my Milgram/Facebook coincidence.

After the August 18^th article was read, I really did not think about it any more. I continued to read the comics daily, and did that other thing I do, took photos on a couple of walks. At times, when I take photos, I am aware I am taking it for another “purpose” though explaining this would be difficult. On Labor Day, I took a walk along the Ohio River and later uploaded some photos to my facebook page. I added more the next day, as “leftovers”. This is where connection number one comes into play. On September 6^th, a cartoon showing the backside of three letters of the alphabet in a courtoom situation, the judge stating they were out of order, caught my eye and I posted about it on facebook.I did not tell anyone that in order to take the photo of the backside of a metal sign, I had to push past my vertigo to walk up a metal ramp then get myself into a weird position on the floating platform. This is not something done easily because of my vertigo, because it feels as though everything is moving. After seeing the cartoon and making the backwards letters connection in my own way, I looked up the name Adi, to see what it meant. I found a couple of other ways to write it, one being the Hebrew spelling and the other a Chinese tattoo.

I don’t read Hebrew or Chinese, so this was just another connection to me in the form of text art, which is what my comics collages and anagrams are to some extent. We will call it connection number two.

I realize this makes no sense to a lot of people reading this, but stay with me here. I went through the trouble of documenting all of this. Yeah, I took 3 letters from the name of a city and used them to look up a name, so what? Here is the next “what”…connection #3.

Yesterday I received a post card in the mail regarding a class action settlement that seemed a little unusual. I did use the postcard as a drink coaster last night, but have no plans to do anything else with it but throw it out. Oh, I know, that is not the proper way to exclude myself from the settlement, but I already got what I needed from it…the name Milgram. I don’t know if others would call this 3 degrees of separation at this point, but let’s just say I did receive something in text through the US Mail, and it has the name “Milgram”on it.

This morning, having prepared my coffee and checking my Facebook feed, I discovered that a “friend” had just “friended” a person named, of all names, Adi. I ask those who do this sort of thing, is that the requisite steps #4 and #5 that the original Milgram discovered?

**By the way…after I posted this I found this interesting fact, Stanley Milgram’s mother’s name was Adele, for which some may use the nickname “Adi”. Figured I should add that to the post.

The text for the above anagram is within the turquoise-colored field. I have apparently misplaced a set of keys. Earlier today I had the ENT tell me the results of the ENG…it showed I have a severe vestibular disturbance. Well other than the name, it isn’t news really, but it tells me where this thing is in my head that causes my spin. It’s a start to trying to live again.  And yes, autumn is my favorite time of the year,…it is that.

Some plan to use an oil drill…I think it may work.

Though Vickie uses more than enough text she appears to have methodically good daily results regardless the number of letters, so her unconscious mind is receptive to inexhaustible multisensory input.

The anagram above was made using all the letters seen in the purple box of the comics collage I made today from comics found today. I have “The Event” on NBC as I write this entry. Last night, the preacher and his wife handed out cupcakes to people as they left church, but I did not take one, so there would be enough for others. I met a person today on the sidewalk, and I assume I have his identity correct, though he did not tell me his name. He did, however, tell me he has a gnome that he and his wife take with them on vacations, to take photos of him, kinda’ what Beaker was doing. The young man said his father used to call him Beaker when he and his father would work together on projects, so he wanted to pose with Beaker for the photo op. I hope you enjoy the collage and anagram.

So here’s where I am with today’s posting.  On September 4, I started the out-of-the-box-with-Beaker page on facebook and since part of the fun is in taking the mega muppet out in public and taking photos, I happened to be doing so on September 6th at the Crystal Beach pool in Madison, Indiana, when I noticed a woman fall at the edge of the pool. Earlier, I had already seen a lifeguard fall just a few feet from the same spot, and fortunately he had the chair to keep him from going down. Apparently no lifeguards noticed when this woman fell.  A woman nearby on a raft asked if she (Deanna) was OK (it sounded like she said she was) yet I noticed she was a little slow in getting up. Thus, I came up behind her in the pool and offered my assistance.

She said she was not ready to try to get up, and seeing her knee was cut open I proffered my towel (to wipe it off) so when ready she could get up without blood dripping down her leg into the pool. I then went for ice at the snack stand to keep the knee from swelling.

At some point she went to get a band-aid from the pool office and entered the pool. I suppose somewhere in my mind I knew there was a reason for our meeting, and will do what I can to show that in this post.

It turned out the conversation revealed that the woman, I know now as Deanna, had lost her husband last year and was reading the book, Heaven and the Afterlife by: James L. Garlow and Keith Wall.  A seeker, she was looking for some confirmation about the afterlife. Inept at explaining my weird connection to the stars above, I told her hurriedly about my comics and anagrams and suggested I may have something in the day’s comics to relate to her. I went back in to swim a bit more.

Back in the pool I noticed the reflection in the water as I looked poolside to see Deanna reading, now sitting on a bench rather than the chair she was in. The towel “spoke” to me and I got out of the pool to take a picture of it. I told her it was talking to me, lol. She said it was a Pepsi towel, and that her husband used to collect tops to redeem for Pepsi-related products; that the towel was one of those items. I told her it may be a Pepsi towel but to me it meant Psi. Not pounds per square inch, mind you…I meant what is known as Psi or parapsychology, which is by definition: “The study of the evidence for psychological phenomena, such as telepathy, clairvoyance, and psychokinesis, that are inexplicable by science.”

OK, got that. I told her there would be evidence of a connection. She told me maybe in the form of a butterfly or mockingbird. I knew I already had one of those, so later, when I got home I sent her an initial message saying I would go back over the comics I had collected that morning to see what they held for her, and that I already had one in mind to include (part of) in the collage. I sent her this:

Now that the butterfly was there, I would find a way to connect it later on when I did the rest of the collage and the anagram. I left it sit overnight. The next day, the 7th I did my usual comics collage and did an anagram. I sent the collage with the anagram to her, and hoped she would get something from it, though I explained almost nothing to her. The collage I sent is only part of a larger one I had done, but this is what I sent:

All of the words in the text bubbles were anagrammed to give me my anagram, which I am leaving as is, with no explanation other than that which you see.  The anagram came out to this: “

“Yesterday you took the inanimate Beaker muppet to the pool to take photos. Deanna Shelley cut her knee when she slipped in the water at the swimming pool’s edge. It may have been an unusual opportunity to see parapsychologic action at work by a quantum singularity. It began below ground soil…it happens when the ghost gets you. OK, what about widowhood, Deanna? We both plan being on www a bit today. All should use Alpha Boson the wall I do…absolutely mentally witty.”

Then I went back to the comics collage of the 6th, which I had not yet done or sent to her. The one you see is part of a larger one, though it is not something I really need to show. What you see is the final collage and anagram I sent to Deanna, and what I call a clarifier. The text within the purple box is that which was used to do the anagram which reads, “

“He knew Deanna was grandmother to Charles Jacob Shelley. You heard why she reads the book you eyed…you took a chance. It isn’t like you to tell…truth to her is a risky business. I guess you heard how kooky A.I. Are…wow, I hear you “met” them. They thought about a www home. We thank you.”

 A  teeny explanation: AI=artificial intelligence and by “met” I meant that on the way home from the pool I saw a license plate, 777ARE. At the moment I saw it my immediate thought was 777=jackpot and ARE=www.edgarcayce.org

I checked the websites before I got in my car and there was NO MENTION of THIS date being one that the pool would close at 5:45 pm for a pool party.

When I got there I saw there was a hand made sign at the register that said the pool would be closed at 5:45 for a pool party. I just looked at it and said to the person at the register, “You have got to be kidding?!”

Well gee, so those who might really need the pool to cool off can’t use it, and how many other “parties” will keep me from using the pool?  Seems to me a section of the pool SHOULD be used for those who have paid to be able to use it ESPECIALLY during a heat emergency.

After I came home from my disappointment, I turned on the local channel 15 to see a screen that said the pools hours were noon to 7 PM, hours subject to change. I’ll say. Here’s a link about pool hours, which confuse more than one person around here.

I am not sure I will want a season pass next year if the pool is not accessible on days I most need or want to use it. I’m sure this is part of the reason there is a problem with attendance at this pool…you can’t count on being able to use it when you already paid to do so.
